Nonwoven fabric is a textile made directly from fibres bonded together by heat, pressure, or chemicals — without weaving or knitting. It is used across medical, hygiene, agricultural, packaging, furniture, mattress, and construction applications.

We manufacture PP spunbond nonwoven fabric from 100% virgin polypropylene. Spunbond is a thermal-bonded process — no chemical binders, no adhesives. We do not produce other nonwoven types (meltblown, spunlace, needlepunched) ourselves but we do have partners who we can refer you to or source together with our fabric if required.

Some manufacturers of spunbond PP nonwoven fabric often blend in calcium carbonate, other mineral fillers, or recycled PP to reduce material cost. Filler creates stress points in the fibre that lead to embrittlement and powdering over time. Recycled PP has depleted antioxidant stabilisers and unknown thermal history, which means less predictable performance and faster degradation. Virgin polypropylene avoids both — consistent fibre quality, predictable behaviour in converting equipment, and integrity that lasts the life of the end product.

Spunbond and meltblown are both thermal bonded nonwoven processes, but they produce very different fabrics. Spunbond fibres are continuous filaments that are extruded, drawn, and thermally bonded into a strong, dimensionally stable fabric — ideal for structural, agricultural, packaging, furniture, mattress, and industrial applications. Meltblown uses much finer, shorter fibres that form a softer, more porous web with high filtration efficiency, typically used as a barrier or filtration layer (for example, the middle layer of a surgical mask). Greatech manufactures PP spunbond nonwoven fabric only; meltblown can be sourced through our partner network if required as part of a combined supply.

Yes. PP spunbond is 100% polypropylene and is identified under recycling code 5. End-of-life recyclability depends on the waste-management infrastructure in your market and on whether the fabric has been combined with other materials. We do not currently operate a take-back programme — please contact our team if you have specific end-of-life or sustainability requirements you would like to discuss.

Our standard range is 9gsm to 250gsm. Typical weights by application: medical and hygiene 9 to 80gsm; agriculture 9 to 120gsm; furniture and home textiles 50 to 150gsm; packaging and bags 30 to 150gsm; mattress components 30 to 360gsm; construction 100 to 250gsm. Our proprietary ultrasonic insulator runs 180 to 360gsm.

We run production lines at 1.6m, 2.2m, 2.4m, and 3.2m. Custom slit widths are available on request with a standard tolerance of ±1cm.

UV stabilisation, flame retardant, hydrophilic, hydrophobic, and anti-static finishes are available depending on the grade. Standard treatments by application are listed on each product page. Confirm specific treatment availability and minimums with our sales team.

Yes. White is our standard colour; additional colours are available on request. Width and roll length are customisable to specification. Diamond emboss is standard.

Standard packaging is rolls on a paper core, wrapped in PE film. Core internal diameters are 5cm to 10cm with 3cm or 4cm wall thickness. Custom packaging is available on request.

Yes.
